Meridian Tower — concept design, axonometric study
The idea
A tower that stacks a neighbourhood instead of floor plates — market, housing, workshops and gardens set one above the other, each block turned toward its own light.
Towers usually repeat one floor a hundred times. Meridian Tower refuses the repetition: it is drawn as five stacked quarters, each shifted off the axis of the one below to catch the Atlantic breeze and shade the terrace beneath it.
The ground level gives back what the tower takes. Instead of a lobby, the base opens as a covered market hall, continuous with the street — the city flows through the building before the building rises over the city.
Every shifted joint between blocks becomes a shared floor: a garden, a crèche, a rooftop court. The structure is the social diagram, read from the street in a single glance.
